Sharing ideas is a perfect way to “pay forward” a great project that can serve a multitude of people!. That’s what the 4-H Share Fair is all about. We attended the recent Share Fair held at the 4-H Military Partnership Meeting.
The room was filled with tables lining the walls and exhibits from 4-H Cooperative Extension, Land Grant Universities from around the US and also Operation Military Kids. On these tables we found great ideas for camps, workshops and projects. Other groups who support the 4-H with programs for youth were also there.
Backpack Journalist had a table as well! And, our backpackers: Kat, Jessica, Lexie and Kati spent time visiting with all in the room. Please visit our flickr site for all the great photos that we gathered. You will see that the room was quite busy but we were able to catch a few interviews:

All of us knew of this program, and liked seeing them at the Share Fair! It’s been at our schools and it’s about making good choices in our lives. As teens we are often challenged by peer pressure to join in with dangerous behaviors such as drug or substance abuse.
The booklet shown here is filled with great projects for teen/youth groups. And, each of the projects have been pilot tested with outcomes that have shown success! We love that!

Kati (hi) I am from Ohio. We have a very active group of military youth and heavily
supported by the Ohio State Extension Specialist (Theresa Ferrari). I have worked as a camp counselor! Our summer camps
are the best in the US, and this exhibit was filled with photos and ideas for youth to participate in.
Virginia Cooperative Extension – Is sponsoring a traveling film exhibit! It is all about the life in the military and will contain many documentaries. More on this shortly, as we are also sending out an email request to our backpackers. We have many short films and hope to contribute to this traveling exhibit. For more information, please contact:
