Is Backpack Journalist a “life-changing” experience? One parent thinks so.

NEWS!  Just received from a parent of a former student of A Backpack Journalist!

NOTE:  to protect the privacy of the youth now in college, we have removed her name.

2 years ago, my daughter participated in the Backback Journalist (AUSA) event hosted in Washington, D.C. (October 2011).  The experience for her was life changing, and provided her with a sense of purpose and allowed her to focus energy on her impending college choices and studies.  This fall she is entering her sophomore year at the University of Texas in Austin and majoring in Journalism (minor in Business).  When looking back at the opportunity that this program provided, it is clearly enriching the lives of young people abroad – and I am thankful for the work that this program does.

NOTE:  we continue to collect data on the results of the workshops taught by our innovative teachers with their methods and use of curriculum.  This note was received unsolicited from a parent now serving in the US Armed Forces.
