A Backpack Journalist – Choose from 1 -5 days –  Camps/Workshops

Choose from rotations of Writing, Song writing, Photography, Cowboy Poetry, Urban Poetry and Filmmaking.

Each module stands on it’s own by the day.  Or, you may choose to rotate each modules for 2-4 days.

All of our modules have within, subjects. Example with writing you will find Broadcast and Basic Journalism plus Narrative.  Photography includes Portraits and Enviromental.

Our teachers engage and entertain, while delivering academic focused content that helps the youth find their  voice and ability to communicate.

We customize a CAMP or Workshop based on your student’s or youth program’s requirement.

Goals and Objectives

Objective 1: Youth will learn how to communicate clearly, succinctly, and precisely via written word or images on a topic of interest.

Objective 2: Youth will learn how to gather effective and credible research by observing, listening, interviewing, and using the Internet.

Objective 3: Youth will learn how to express themselves creatively using cutting-edge digital technology.

EXAMPLE FOLLOWS:

A Backpack Journalist – weekend retreat – “Overview of Backpack” – 201

All modules presented at opening on Friday night at 7 PM:  Writing, song writing, photography and filmmaking.  Rotations of 1 hour each begin following.  Saturday & Sunday, rotations continue, with labs open in the evening for one on one coaching.  Average length of time spent in a module 3 hours each. Each student will complete retreat with one project, and also a portrait.   This is 2 full days that will provide each student will an overview of A Backpack Journalist.

Goals and Objectives

Objective 1: Youth will learn basics on how to communicate clearly, succinctly, and precisely via written word or images on a topic of interest.

Objective 2: Youth will choose one of the modules to complete a project with.

Objective 3: Youth will receive an overview of each module.
