Hi, Daddy, It’s Me…

Hi%2C+Daddy%2C+Its+Me...

Hi, Daddy, it’s me, Sarena

Remember when you took me to that mall in Anchorage? We bought all those shoes at Foot Locker – yellow Nikes, pink, gray and white Converses, black and red Jordan’s, black Air Force Ones, and the black and white Air Force Ones and Jordan’s combined. And when we came home at 8pm Mom was so mad because you had bought me 5 pairs including thee bright yellow ones I’m wearing right now. I love how we always go shoe shopping together.J

Remember when it was my 5th birthday and you told me I didn’t have anymore gifts. I sat on the living room chair pouting and feeling sorry for myself. Then you said, “Go downstairs,”in a deep scary voice. ( it scared me cause I thought I was in trouble) and I saw that you had bought me a Barbie make-up station!!!J

Remember when I wanted to go to a Lakers basketball game in LA and you said, “Not now. Maybe when you’re older.” I started crying and pouting – again – and then you said, “Mom has something special for you and Robert.” It was four Lakers tickets. I started screaming and was sooo happy even though mom and I sat about half a mile from you and Robert. Still. I was still happy cause I was there with my family. I had the best time ever and I hope we can do it again later in life. J

Remember when Mom was in Afghanistan, and you took over the cooking from mom. Eggs and bacon each morning, and meat loaf and greens and spaghetti each night. Remember the time you burned the stir fry? There was smoke everywhere. You weren’t the best cook in town but I’m glad I had you there with me. J

Remember when you asked me, “Do you want to help me with dinner?” and I said sure!! We made biscuits and chicken and my favorite, baked halibut. We listened to Gospel music. We sang “God in Me” over and over again.  I was so glad you asked me because now I’m a very good cook, and it’s all because of the tips you gave me.J

Thank you sooo much Daddy for being the awesome dad you are and being there for me when I need you.

LOVE, Your Baby Girl

Rena
