Thursday, August 31 – 330 to 4 PM:  
Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, College of Charleston, Corner of St. Phillip and Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC
 
We meet Jamee Haley, Director of LowCountry First, and tour Marc Trujillo’s exhibit. We will hear from Jamee, The Lowcountry First’s mission statement, and why that’s so important to where we live!

Saturday, September 16, 2017 – Saturday School
9 am until 4 PM – Charleston County Public Library – departing to the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art at 12:30  PM.
Interview at 2 PM at the Halsey Institute of Art.
All “backpack journalists” are invited to participate as we visit the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art and meet and interview the artist Marc Trujillo, whose painting depict:  ANYWHERE USA.
If you are a member of our after school program at East Cooper Montessori Charter School or Allegro Charter Music school, you do not need to register on line.  Please confirm via email that your student will be attending either event. Parents you are also invited to join us at either event.  ([email protected]
If you have taken a Backpack Journalist/camp/summer filmmaking and NOT in our after school, please register via our on line store.
Saturday School – September 16, 2017 – CCPL from 9 am to 4 PM
You will receive a registration packet, that contains photography permission forms.
We will be providing iPAD Iographers and DSLR cameras for student use.  $40 for Saturday school.
