Marines Storm the Sea Side Boardwalk for a good cause!

Seaside Park, N.J. – Twelve active-duty Marines from McGuire Air Force Base/Fort Dix stormed up the Seaside Park beach with the mission to deliver the inaugural Seaside Semper Five Marine Corps Charity 5k Run/Walk race t-shirt to Seaside Park Mayor Robert Matthies and Rear Admiral Mo Hill. The race, which will take place on September 13th of this year, will benefit the MARSOC Foundation (United States Marine Corps Special Operations Command). Yesterday in Seaside Park with Seaside Park Mayor Robert Matthies, Rear Admiral Mo Hill and 12 active-duty Marines from McGuire Air Force Base/Fort Dix to announce the inaugural Seaside Semper Five Marine Corps Charity 5k Run/Walk benefitting the MARSCO Foundation (United States Marine Corps Special Operations Command). The Marines raced up the beach with the American Flag and the official Seaside Semper Five flag to deliver the first race shirt to Rear Admiral Mo Hill and for an official flag raising ceremony.

As part of the ceremony, Mayor Matthies revealed the new race logo and officially proclaim September 13th as Semper Five Day throughout Seaside Park.

This September, in the wake of the 9/11 anniversary, Seaside Park, N.J., will honor our Marines and Sailors in one of the area’s most significant fund raising events of the year. Thousands of spectators will line the boardwalk, as runners take to the boards on a scenic certified course along the ocean for the First Annual Seaside Semper Five Marine Corps Charity 5K Run/Walk, all benefitting the MARSOC Foundation.
