ATLANTA, GEORGIA

February 8, 2014

Backpackers from Texas, Georgia, and Colorado have been invited in as media and storytellers to help tell the story the CyberPatriot National Competition in a signature 9″ x 12″ portfolio book.

CyberPatriot, created by the Air Force Association, began in 2009 as a pilot program consisting of 8 teams from Florida, and today has grown to over 1,200 teams in all 50 states, motivating students by providing a unique and successful competition that excites them about STEM education and STEM careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines critical to our nation’s future.

CyberPatriot is not a hacking competition. It teaches only defensive means of fixing vulnerabilities and hardening systems.

A Backpack Journalist’ new portfolio books are found in our online store, and are full of colorful photos with content that engage readers of all ages.  This CyberPatriot book addresses STEM education and will contain QR codes that allow the reader to incorporate the use of the Internet with the written word.

Dates of the CyberPatriot Competition are:  March 26-30, 2014 – National Harbor, Maryland
